Last key changes in Xtesting

Cedric Ollivier

Lots of key changes were published over the last days in Xtesting and its related Ansible tooling.

Here are the most important ones:

·         publish automatically all logs/reports to any S3-compatible repository (Amazon S3, Google Storage, OpenStack Swift, Minio, etc.)

·         write all artifact links in the test result details in DB to ease any post-processing

·         enhance Behave driver to conform with the other drivers (HTML report, Xunit, etc.)

Xtesting Ansible Role (Continuous Integration toolchain helper):

·         allow configuring centralized services instead of deploying all of them

·         support Gitlab and GitlabCI (both models: all-in-one deployment and configuration of an existing Gitlab deployment)

Configuring an existing Jenkins only requires few changes via Ansible variables:

·         jenkins_deploy: false

·         jenkins_user: …

·         jenkins_password: …

·         Jenkins_url: …

Switching from Jenkins to Gitlab is done via 3 Ansible variables:

·         jenkins_deploy: false

·         Jenkins_load_jobs: false

·         gitlab_deploy: true

From a tester statepoint, switching from Jenkins to Gitlab CI is as simple as writing 3 boolean values in a yaml file.

Try the last updates, you will love them!

It’s more than an help for the Network automation journey, VNF onboarding and testing included.
